Actually you COULD be a lemming. It all comes down to who your manager is. I find that that better managers use employees more as red herrings than scapegoats.
Conversation Example: CEO ~ "Do you have that report?" VP ~ "Bob normally pulls the numbers for my reports but he is out sick. I will seen what I can do. Bob is extremely sick and I hope he doesn't have to visit the hospital again." CEO ~ "I hope Bob feels better soon." VP ~ "Me too."
Which leads me to ask...is your manager better or worse? :) OR how about we think of a lovely lunch of sushi instead (actually this is probably the best route).
